A lot is happening in the world of gymnastics right now, but something lots of us have been wanting is happening more often now. It’s a movement, a culture, and it’s changing – finally.
As science and medical knowledge evolve, we’re learning to take better care of our bodies and our gymnasts’ bodies. We’re nurturing the whole person – mind, body, and soul. We’re improving our training programs to help protect gymnasts, to strengthen gymnasts, and to increase their longevity in the sport. We’re trying to change judging standards to incorporate what’s safe and real such as this information about safer landings. Unrealistic expectations are causing long-term damage to our bodies as everyone strives for that higher score, that perfect score.
It’s becoming well known that gymnasts don’t have to peak at the young and tender age of 16. You now see gymnasts well into their twenties and even in their thirties and forties competing because they can.
I don’t know about you, but that’s what I’ve always wanted. I want it to be a part of our lives when our hair turns gray and we get wrinkles. I’m glad there’s lots of living proof now.
If you’re interested in an adult class with us, please join us in September!
Have a great and successful day!
Sincerely,
