Class Descriptions

All classes meet once per week excluding holidays and school closures unless otherwise informed. Tuition has been calculated based on the number of days we meet each month so monthly totals may vary. We follow the Shelby county school calendar.

Class Descriptions

The following is a list of classes. If you do not see a class you are looking for, please let me know. All class descriptions list the group class price.

My First Gymnastics with Mom (Ages Walking to 2.5 years of age)

Class Length: 30 minutes

This gymnastics class is for children crawling up to age 2.5 accompanied and guided by a trusted adult in class. The early years are best for bonding and nurturing your child. They benefit from an adult’s presence as they watch and learn from you. They look to you for guidance, reassurance, and safety. The focus of this class is a safe introduction to gymnastics. I strive to help you and your child excel while being safe and still having fun.

Gymnastics offers many benefits from learning your own balance and agility to strengthening fine motor skills, muscles, coordination, flexibility, self-awareness, confidence, goals, striving for achievements, and focus. Being with your child while exploring all of these benefits builds the happiness, confidence, and reassurance of your relationship because your child is in a positive environment approved by you, and that’s important to them developmentally, emotionally, and physically. So, sign up and join us for lots of exploration and learn safe ways to help your child succeed.

Preschool Gymnastics with Mom (Ages 2.5 – 4)

Class Length: 30 minutes

Preschool Gymnastics Ages 3-4

Class Length: 40 minutes

Skill Level Beginner includes:

  • Floor: forward rolls, backbends, handstands, cartwheels, jumps, leaps, spins
  • Beam: balancing, walking, jumping, dismounting
  • Vault: squats and dismounts

This gymnastics class is for children ages 3 to 4. Your child will learn safe ways to perform basic gym and acro skills on the floor, low beam, and vault while acquiring a better sense of balance and agility along with flexibility, strength, and endurance. It’s a great introduction to class without Mommy and creates a strong foundation for future development.

Ages 4-7 Beginner

Class Length: 50 minutes

Skill Level Beginner includes:

  • Floor: forward rolls, backbends, handstands, cartwheels, jumps, leaps, spins
  • Beam: balancing, walking, jumps, dismounts
  • Vault: squats, straddles, and dismounts

This gymnastics class is for children ages 4 to 7. Your child will learn safe ways to perform basic gym and acro skills on the floor, low beam, and vault while acquiring a better sense of balance and agility along with fine motor skills, flexibility, strength, and endurance. This is an excellent age for learning. Gymnastics promotes self-confidence and self-awareness among many other excellent mental, physical, and emotional benefits all of which create a strong foundation to build upon.

Ages 4-7 Intermediate

Class Length: 50 minutes

Skill Level Intermediate includes:

  • Floor: connecting skills, walkovers, back extensions, leaps, spins
  • Beam: mounts, jumps, leaps, turns, dismounts
  • Vault: straddle overs, squat throughs, handstands, and dismounts

This gymnastics class is for children ages 4 to 7. Your child will progress safely through gym and acro skills on the floor, low beam, and vault while continuing to improve on a better sense of balance and agility along with coordination, flexibility, strength, and endurance. This is an excellent age for learning. Gymnastics promotes self-confidence and self-awareness among many other excellent mental, physical, and emotional benefits all of which continue to build on a strong foundation for future development.

Ages 8-11 Beginner

Class Length: 50 minutes

Skill Level Beginner includes:

  • Floor: forward rolls, backbends, handstands, cartwheels, round offs, jumps, leaps, spins
  • Beam: balancing, walking, jumps, dismounts
  • Vault: squats, straddles, squat throughs, and dismounts

This gymnastics class is for children ages 8 to 11. Your child will learn safe ways to perform basic gym and acro skills on the floor, low beam, and vault while acquiring a better sense of balance and agility along with coordination, flexibility, strength, and endurance. This age strives to achieve greatness on a personal level, learns about safe progressions, and begins setting personal goals. Gymnastics promotes self-confidence and self-awareness among many other excellent mental, physical, and emotional benefits all of which create a strong foundation to build upon in all aspects of life.

Ages 8-11 Intermediate

Class Length: 50 minutes

Skill Level Intermediate includes:

  • Floor: connecting skills, walkovers, back extensions, leaps, spins
  • Beam: mounts, jumps, leaps, turns, dismounts
  • Vault: straddle overs, squat throughs, handstands, and dismounts

This gymnastics class is for children ages 8 to 11. Your child will progress safely through gym and acro skills on the floor, low beam, and vault while continuing to improve on a better sense of balance and agility along with coordination, flexibility, strength, and endurance. This age strives to achieve greatness on a personal level, learns about safe progressions and recognizing current limits, and sets personal goals. Gymnastics promotes self-confidence and self-awareness among many other excellent mental, physical, and emotional benefits all of which create a strong foundation to build upon in all aspects of life.

Ages 12+ Beginner

Class Length: 50 minutes

Skill Level Beginner includes:

  • Floor: forward rolls, backbends, handstands, cartwheels, round offs, jumps, leaps, spins
  • Beam: balancing, walking, jumps, dismounts
  • Vault: squats, straddles, squat throughs, and dismounts

This gymnastics class is for children ages 12 and up. Your child will learn safe ways to perform basic gym and acro skills on the floor, low beam, and vault while acquiring a better sense of balance and agility along with coordination, flexibility, strength, and endurance. This age learns more about taking care of their bodies and staying healthy along with goal setting and self-guided discovery. Gymnastics promotes self-confidence and self-awareness among many other excellent mental, physical, and emotional benefits all of which create a strong and well-rounded self with good discipline in all aspects of life.

Ages 12+ Intermediate

Class Length: 50 minutes

Skill Level Intermediate includes:

  • Floor: connecting skills, walkovers, back extensions, leaps, spins
  • Beam: mounts, jumps, leaps, turns, dismounts
  • Vault: straddle overs, squat throughs, handstands, and dismounts

This gymnastics class is for children ages 12 and up. Your child will progress safely through gym and acro skills on the floor, low beam, and vault while continuing to improve on a better sense of balance and agility along with coordination, flexibility, strength, and endurance. This age learns more about taking care of their bodies and staying healthy along with goal setting and self-guided discovery. Gymnastics promotes self-confidence and self-awareness among many other excellent mental, physical, and emotional benefits all of which create a strong and well-rounded self with good discipline in all aspects of life.

Ages 4-7, Ages 8+ Tumbling

Class Length: 50 minutes

Skill Levels

Beginner: forward & backward rolls, back bends, handstands, cartwheels, and jumps
Intermediate: dive rolls, limbers, walkovers, round offs, jumps, and connecting skills
Advanced: walkovers, handsprings, tucks, layouts, jumps, and connecting skills

This tumbling class will start out as tumbling for ages 4 years and up and all skill levels unless we have enough enrolled to split the class. This class is for anyone and may be of more interest to those acquiring skills for cheerleading and dance. Your child will learn safe ways to perform basic gym and acro skills on the floor only while acquiring a better sense of balance and agility along with fine motor skills, flexibility, strength, and endurance. This is an excellent time for learning. Gymnastics, including tumbling, promotes self-confidence and self-awareness among many other excellent mental, physical, and emotional benefits all of which create a strong foundation to build upon.

Open Gym Ages 6+

Class Length: 50 minutes

This gymnastics class is for those who want more time practicing certain skills without instruction. Each student is responsible for proper stretching, safe practices, and working within his or her own skill limits. This is not a time to try new skills or take unnecessary risks, rather improve upon and perfect skills the students already know and perform. Basic progressions may be a part of this open gym time but only at the advisement of instructors and comfort level of the students.
