Today was THE Day! The day we’ve been working towards since February when you all showed me how much you wanted gymnastics in Chelsea after just starting in January at the Chelsea Community Center…
The South Shelby Chamber or Commerce (SSCC) and the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce (GSCCC) hosted a delightful ribbon cutting ceremony where we were joined by several chamber members including the SSCC Executive Director Keyla Handley, GSCCC Director of Operations Payton Thomas, Jane Ann Mueller of The City of Chelsea, Stephen Dawkins of The Shelby County Reporter, Mike Cooley of Chelsea Citizens Observer Patrol, Vicki Everett of Juice Plus, and Tawanna Robinson of Alabama Career Center, plus Jordan Gilliam of 2 Girls and a Dog Boutique (later).
We also had the special pleasure of having Mayor Tony Picklesimer and State Representative Corley Ellis. I appreciate Mr. Mayor’s and Mr. Ellis’ kind and supportive words to kick off the ribbon cutting ceremony. It was an honor to meet them both. Honestly, I was honored to meet everyone who attended.
A few other important people to mention include Leah Eagle of Chelsea Central, lots of friends and gymnasts long-time and new, my in-laws, husband Chris, and our girl/boy kindergartener twins Victoria and Zachary.
After the excitement of cutting the ribbon, we enjoyed a social and fun open house where the kids played and the adults visited while enjoying some refreshments. I was so happy to see more friends drop by and check out our new space. It looked like everyone had a great time and lots of kids were excited about starting classes next week.
Thank you, again, for all of the community support! I’m so fortunate to be surrounded by amazing people. And I look forward to serving you and your families. You all inspire success and great things.
Have a great and successful day!
Sincerely,
