Advanced Progress

I love those days I come to the gym with no expectations. Then out of what seems like nowhere great things happen. Our advanced gymnasts have a real dedication in the gym and sometimes everything comes together beautifully. Every time I turned around yesterday I saw another great skill, so we captured a few to share with you.

First up is Merci’s pullover back hip circle connected and with nice form on bar. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŽ‰

Next is Kelsey’s back handspring. She’s worked really hard to improve her form and I was pleasantly surprised with her consistency last night. She’s also the first group class gymnast at our gym to master a pretty back handspring. We’ll start transitioning her to the floor next so we can add onto it. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŽ‰

Layla has had a nice back walkover for a while. She’s usually rock solid in her balance and form, so I wanted to capture her strong start and finish. As usual, video often gives us a few extra wiggles than without, but she did great. πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸ»

Addison has been regaining confidence after she experienced a slip on high beam. I was so excited to see her excellent height and rock solid landing repeatedly of her handstand on high beam. Way to go! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŽ‰

And I just want to give Aminalee a shout out on her handstand half twist vault. Her first one of the evening was absolutely perfect! It was her very best by far. Hopefully that will become more consistent in the future so we can capture it again. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŽ‰

Lastly, Merci’s back handspring improved during her Extended Advanced class. We’ve still got more refining to do, but I’m proud of her hard work to get this far.

What I love most about this group in general is their dedication and mental strength. They go for it! And this doesn’t happen over night but is the result for those who keep trying, which is all I ever ask.

Everyone in class did amazing last night. I saw amazing handstand vaults from Gabriella, Ann Catherine, and Kelsey all reaching great new heights. Lu had absolutely beautiful front limbers and back walkovers. Hadley hit the first half of her valdez with ease and had an excellent start to her front handspring drills. And everyone made great progress on their back handsprings and pullover back hip circles on bars. Plus Addison and Merci improved their cast straddle sole circle dismounts. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŽ‰πŸ€ΈπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ I’m so very proud of all of them! 2020 is off to a fantastic start and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Thank you, ladies, for working so hard! I just love watching you improve and achieve new skills.

Have a great and successful day!

Sincerely,

Sara Beth Signature
