WOW! Happy New Year! Everyone came to the gym super excited to be back! And we welcomed lots of new friends too. I think we all were bursting with energy and enthusiasm after a nice long break.
On everyone’s first day back, we saw impressive progress!
Tuesday
Our boys were rocking their one-handed cartwheels! They tried new skills on bars and pommel horse too.
Our Beginner Ages 4-7 class had some excellent handstands! They did their best ever and were kicking all the way up with straight legs. πππ» We’re catching video next week and will add it here.
Our Beginner Ages 4-5 had excellent improvement on their handstands and cartwheels. π€ΈπΌββοΈπ€ΈπΌββοΈ I caught a couple of them.
Plus, they demonstrated some good strength on bars. I was proud of this group for getting up there all by themselves and at the same time. ππ»
Our Advanced Ages 4+ was off to a great start with a few more gymnasts who moved up.
I might dare to say they ate a few too many Christmas treats though, because warmups sounded like we had some grandmas on the floor (no disrespect, grandmas!). π
That all quickly changed though as they showed me all our back handspring drills paid off. I’m super proud of how well they’re doing! I’m just thrilled with everything this group is accomplishing!
And for those who stay for Advanced Extended, I was so happy with their punch front progress!
Thursday
We kicked off the morning with our Preschool Gymnastics class. They’re getting stronger and more coordinated every day! Check out their handstands. ππ»
Plus we’re seeing lots of cartwheel progress too. This little gymnast is moving up to Beginner this week.
And his cartwheel is getting better every week. ππ»
I was excited to see her hopping better too.
And one of our youngest preschoolers now holds herself up on the bar. I’m excited she’s figuring out how to do her little bar skills on the big bar. ππ»
After a successful private lesson where she’s mastered her back handspring and round off back handspring, Intermediate Ages 4-7 rocked their skills. We added focus on their standing backbends and started doing drills to prepare for handstands on balance beam.
Our Beginner Ages 6-7 class looked really good too. Bar skills have come a long way and kick overs and standing backbends are getting easier.
Our Beginner/Intermediate Ages 8+ class showed us some very strong one-handed cartwheels. ππ» We welcomed a few new friends too and they were outstanding on their first day.
Monday
I just love when our gymnasts move up! Our morning and evening Preschool Gymnastics class showed they’re getting stronger and more coordinated and we welcomed Millie from Gymnastics with Mom. They had such a great day I had to make a video. πππ»
Gymnastics with Mom always is a fun way to start the week! We welcomed some new families to our classes too.
As our week progresses, I’ll add more updates to this post, so feel free to check back.
I’m thrilled to see everyone’s enthusiasm and progress! It’s a great way to start this Olympic yearοΏΌοΏΌ 2020!
For those who join us this summer, it will be super fun at gymnastics camp and summer classes!
Thank you, SB Gym families! We’re having a blast!
Have a great and successful day!
Sincerely,
