An Exciting Month

I apologize for publishing this so late. Two months have flown by since I wrote this. January was an incredible month and our highest month of new gymnast enrollment after opening for classes in our new space in September.

Whew! January has flown by with all of our new friends. We’ve had lots of fun and I’ve seen lots of progress! I’m excited to have a few preschool gymnasts moving to the beginner class and several beginners moving to intermediate. Hooray!

The intermediate classes also are branching into more advanced skills, as well. It’s been such an exciting month! Adding 28 new students, moving many up, and starting on lots of new skills while other skills are being mastered makes life at gymnastics really great!

Last week, the 8 and Up class excelled at mastering skills. Layla is our first gymnast to do her back hip circle on the bar by herself. While it’s not quite mastered, she’s done it several times and that is a gym first!

Several mastered standing backbends, handstands, handstand to backbend, back walkovers, front limbers, and we’re close on front walkovers, too. Plus, more cartwheels on the floor beam are coming along. And everyone looks great on the vault where we’ll be working handstands a lot in the near future.

Shifting to some little gymnasts, a couple weeks ago in the morning, we had a great day with the Preschool Gymnastics class. A new gymnast, Eliza, felt very brave and walked across the low beam all by herself. That meant she finally got to walk across the high beam with help. Good job, Eliza!

Charlie decided it was time to do his skin the cat all by himself. It was perfect with a great landing! Unfortunately, I couldn’t video and be close by at the same time, but here they are demonstrating some excellent front supports.

And, last but not least, Jocelyn did her backbend and pushed up off of her head repeatedly for the first time today. Watch those strong arms push!

These preschoolers had an awesome day! I’m so proud of you all! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Someone else who has been working hard is my son, Zachary. During the gym’s birthday party, Zachary and Blair did their pullovers on bar all by themselves! Zachary has continued to do his, and I finally got a video.

Have a great and successful day!

Sincerely,
